Will Dutta
Through his multiple roles as Concert Pianist, Collaborator and Creative Producer of Chimera Productions, Will’s ongoing interest in connecting the dots between modern dance music and contemporary and experimental art music has led to performances at Kings Place, Ether 10 at the Southbank Centre and Tate Modern and collaborations with the likes of Warp-veterans Plaid, sonic artists Scanner and John Matthias and composers Gabriel Prokofiev, John Richards and Max de Wardener.
He studied piano performance with Philip Fowke and Mikhail Kazakevich at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and has received invaluable guidance and career support from Andrew Burke, Chief Executive of the London Sinfonietta and Julia Payne of the hub, with whom he has received regular mentoring over the last three years.
Launched at City Hall in April 2009, he became one of eight emerging producers to participate in the first New Music Plus… developed by the PRS for Music Foundation in association with the hub, supported by Arts Council England, the Cultural Leadership Programme and Sound and Music, in which he received bespoke training, a twelve-month placement with Tate Britain and mentoring from Joanna MacGregor.
Will is Executive Producer of Nonclassical Recordings’ 2009 release: Gabriel Prokofiev’s Concerto for Turntables & Orchestra feat. DJ Yoda & Heritage Orchestra and his first artist-album, Parergon, is to be released on Just Music in 2012.
He currently holds a position on the piano faculty at St. Helen & St. Katherine in Abingdon.
